Q. What is usedsaddles.com?
A. A saddle locator site where you can search for a particular saddle for sale. By using our saddle locator you can do a very detailed search for a particular saddle. Thus eliminating the need to page through numerous saddles
Q. Is every saddle listed on your site in stock?
A. YES! Unlike other sites that list every brand, seat size and tree size, there is no way they have every saddle in stock. When you go to buy that saddle on line you have no idea if it is instock. Most of the time it isn't and they order it from the manufacturer. We list every individual saddle that is in our inventory. Of course we can play that game. We can order most saddles everyone else carrys too.
Q. Can you trial a saddle before making a comitment to purchase?
A. Yes of course. We give you a week to trial the saddle. If it is a new saddle you have to follow our trial requirements. 1. Cover Leathers with tube socks. 2. Basic saddle pad under saddle. 3. A hold for the amount of the saddle you are taking on trial will be placed on your credit card. We are not charging your card simply verifying funds. Please use Credit Cards Only NOT Debit Cards! If a Debit Card is used the funds will temporarily be removed from your account.
Q. Your site is called Usedsaddles.com, so why do you sell new saddles?
A. Good Question! We tried to get www.saddles.com but this has been taken by County Saddlery. Please note that while most of the saddles listed are new, they are priced at used saddle prices!
Q. How do you pay for a saddle?
A. Major credit cards are accepted for payment, please call us at 845-878-3881 so that we may process your order.
Q. What happens if I exceed my trial period?
A. Your credit card will be charged for the amount of the saddle(s) that have been sent to you, unless you call the (845) 878-3881 and let us know that you need more time. No refunds will be given, only store credit.
Q. What major brands do you normally carry?
A. We are registered dealers for Passier, Stubben (We are a Stubben Gold Dealer), Bates, Pessoa, Wintec, Henri de Rivel, Collegiate, Ovation, M. Toulouse
Q. What are your shipping Costs?
A. English Saddles $45 for one saddle $55 for two saddles $70 for three saddles $85 for four saddles Alaska - please call for shipping cost. Western Saddles $55.00 for one saddle $80.00 for two saddles We can ship to Canada. The price of the shipment is determined after we bring your saddle order to the post office and ship it. Shipping from the USPS hopefully helps you to save on duty fees, however, if duty is charged it is the customer responsibility to pay it. Saddles to Canada will only be shipped by mail and must only be shipped back by mail. In the case you ship a saddle back by UPS, DHL, or FEDEx your credit card will be charged for the custom fees of the saddle coming back into the US.
Q. Do you accept trade-in's?
A. Yes! We take in trades as long as they meet the following requirements: NO PLAIN FLAPS!!! No Mold or dry leather No rust on metal parts No broken trees No brown dressage saddles All trades must be received prior to the end of your trial period.
Q. How much will I recieve for my trade-in?
A. We evaluate the saddle to determine what we could sell the saddle for retail and then we give you 70% of that number. For Example: If we determine that we can sell your saddle for $1000, then we would give you $700 towards a trade. You DO NOT have to wait for the saddle to sell.
Q. How do you determine the market value of my saddle?
A. Good question. Just like in real estate you can compare what others houses similar to yours have sold for. Saddles are somewhat similar. You can get a good idea of your saddle's value by looking at other websites. For Example: Ebay equine.com tacktrader.com We also know what saddles sell for in our store and compare your saddle to that data. We always come to an agreement before a decision is made. If you are unhappy with our pricing we will send your saddle back and charge your credit card for the cost of shipping.
Q. How can I put my saddle on consignment with Usesaddles.com?
A. First you have to send it to us. We need to touch and feel your saddle to assign it a fair market value. We cannot tell if the tree is broken, we need to assess the billet straps etc... This can only be done by you sending us the saddle.
Q. How does your consignment pricing work?
A. Once we both come to an agreement on your saddles' market value, we will list the saddle on the site. When the saddle sells, you will receive 70% of that value.
Q. Am I responsible for the cost of shipping my saddle back? What kind of cost should I expect?
A. Yes you are reponsible for shipping your saddle back. It is pretty easy though. When finished with your trial period just place the saddle back in the original packaging and go to UPS or US Post Office.
